She never diagnosed but blamed me (mom) for the reason my teen self harmed. I felt she was a rookie therapist with no experience diagnosing adolescents. Her philosophy was and is that cutting happens bc one parent is too “overbearing.” She is doing a disservice to her profession & hurting mothers who care.

A terrible experience
Telehealth
she has very bitter and angry when I met with her. She was 45 minutes from my appointment, and she railed me for being upset about it and made me cry. Then she proceeded to tell me that her other appointment was more important and I was lucky that she showed up because she was sick and going to take the day off. I'm so glad I found someone else kind, professional and supportive on cerebral.

Worst Therapist I’ve Encountered
If you are looking for toxic positivity then she is for you. I shared that I was upset a friend wouldn’t be coming to my baby shower. She went on and on about how I was ungrateful, and some women can’t even get pregnant (I had struggled with infertility for a year). I felt berated and attacked. I was 6 months pregnant and cried. After that she referred me to another therapist. That was our second session.

Worth the wait!
I started seeing Jamie Pargo in 2021 for depression and anxiety and am glad I have stuck with it. My mood has changed from daily depression to 4-5 good days on a regular basis. I am still learning how to love myself, but Jamie has been a blessing in helping me to figure out why I have been depressed for most of my adult life. My self esteem is even healthier and I don't look at things so negatively anymore. Jamie's schedule is pretty full so I'm thankful that I was only on her waitlist a few weeks, it was worth the wait and I can't imagine where I would be if I had not waited and just met with another therapist.

This woman is THE WORST! I’ve had multiple interactions with mental health providers over the past few years and have never had such a negative interaction. I met with her for five minutes and she spent the majority of that time bragging about her achievements and the remainder was spent berating me for seeking mental health treatment for my daughter. My advise to other parents seeking services is look elsewhere. There are so many amazing and caring providers in San Diego. Do not waste your time and energy on this one.
