Jason Waldmeier, LSCSW

Jason is a very calm, conscientious, kind fellow. Unfortunately, he misunderstood my autistic spectrum disorder (previously known as high functioning autism). People with autism can have extreme social anxiety and difficulty functioning in public places when pushed past a certain point. I worked in retail and was stressed beyond belief, as well as over caffeinated and sleep deprived… the experience led me to temporarily become very raw and paranoid. Unfortunately, Jason misdiagnosed me with schizoaffective disorder, bipolar type. This led to months of high doses of Seroquel (an antipsychotic med) being prescribed, which only made my health worse and didn’t help. My symptoms only went away when I got fired from retail and started sleeping normally again. I now live in a rural zone, am thriving towards a career, and experience no psychosis, also verified by relatives, friends, and colleagues. I wish Jason the best, but this misdiagnosis really set me back.
