Never once took notes, joked about falling asleep during analysis, rarely had any real insight beyond vague platitudes and rarely offered any positive reinforcement, instead opting to repeatedly steer me towards self-pity with vague abstractions. When I expressed my desire to seek an alternative therapist, he defensively suggested I consider in-patient therapy clinics on the other side of the country for a few months “to shake things up.” Finally I sent him a message saying I wouldn’t be coming back and, again, to please provide me with a referral... he responds two weeks later with an invoice in which he charged me $55 more than what we’d agreed, and no referral. This is someone who found a way to make an easy $250 in 50minutes, who will be far more concerned with his paycheck than your wellbeing, and who will opt to pathologize you to the point of sending you to a clinic in the middle of nowhere rather than entertain the notion that perhaps he has fallen short in his treatment.
