My son Shaun has been a patient since 2005 and we have gladly followed her from Yale-New Haven to Danbury and now her own office in Monroe CT. She is energetic, knowledgeable, caring and extremely well-educated with years of experience in Type 1 Diabetes and Thyroid issues. She shows extreme concern for patients and their families and goes above and beyond to make adjustments to each case based on the needs of the patient. I have never had to worry about contacting her as she is available 24/7 to help and always responds with compassion. I am truly fortunate to work with her and can honestly say, I love my job.

JoAnn has been exceptional throughout the years. I first came into JoAnn's care almost 20 years ago when she was at Yale-New Haven. From there, I followed JoAnn to Danbury due to the exceptional quality of care. I have always had tight control, and she has kept me abreast of the latest and greatest technologies available. When I recently moved out of the region, and had to find a new endocrinologist, I found the level of endocrinology care in my new city (Denver) paled in comparison.

(continued) Her technical knowledge of pumps/meters and medical knowledge of Juvenile Type 1 Diabetes far surpasses that of any doctor we have ever consulted with during this 8 year journey. Joann cares deeply about each and every child she works with and takes a direct personal interest not only in those children but also the families of those children. As result Joann will always be a part of our family. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. The Schoeller Family

Joann Ahern is the reason our son has a quality life. When Joann took on our son Nate as a patient (6 years old at the time and now 13yrs old) his A1C was roughly 7.3-7.5. Since then our son’s A1C has never been above 7.0 and been as low as 6.2. Whether we contacted her at the office, at home, at night, on her days off or on vacation, Joann always responded immediately to help our family (something no doctor will ever do).

If I could give zero stars I would. How this woman is a pediatric aprn is beyond me. Her bedside manner was atrocious for dealing with children, let alone adults! She made both my wife and daughter feel like idiots with her complete negativity.

Highly recommend_- Knowledgeable Professional When JoAnn first started treating my daughter, her A1C was a whopping 10.5. Every month was met with improvement in her health. Today my daughter has an A1C of 5.4. JoAnn helped us make the right medical equipment choices, and has helped my daughter regulate her blood sugar. Not only that but she is always makes herself available 24/7. My daughter will be forever indebted to her.

Since recently becoming her patient, my A1C has dropped significantly. I highly recommend seeing Joann Ahern for your diabetes care.
