A few years ago, I went to see her with my ex for potential couples counseling and within minutes of time spent together she told me I was 'too broken'. At our next session I told her I needed discuss her indiscretion, I felt this was reckless, unprofessional and and uninformed... and entirely incorrect. I needed to reconsider if I was willing to continue with her but thought it was best to discuss this rather than just leave and not return.I informed her my ex used to abuse and maintain control with statements like this. She made a lot of excuses, never apologized or admitted this was an entirely inappropriate statement to make to a new client...or any client. Again I told her this was dangerous to say to a client she'd only just met, what if I had been suicidal ( I was not) or...I found her manner defended, clumsy and unprofessional. I strongly recommend not engaging in therapy or any sort of counseling with her.
