John Hoskins has a problem with his ego and that makes him dangerous. On July 18, 2023 he refused to believe what the Parkview Whitley ER MD told him was wrong with me, despite my labs confirming I have Graves Disease. He treated me as a cardic patient only. After exhausting all efforts in the wrong area he finally admitted he did not understand what Graves disease was and he was going to transport me for free by ambulance to Parkview Regional so I could get the proper treatment. While waiting for said ambulance after he had released me from his care he decided to order a CT scan with iodine contrast. Every major teaching hospital in this country advises against this because iodine is the one thing that will make a Graves patient sicker. If this type of malpractice is done, it is advised for the patient to be closely monitored by labs. Parkview gave me a very high dose of Methimazole to counteract what he did and refused to order labs until Oct 6th. Parkview told me this was no big deal. I finally got my own labs done privately and figured out what they did. Now, I have iodine induced Throtoxicosis, have lost more than half of my hair, gained 30 lbs and am more sick now in March of 2024. Parkview dropped my bill from $48,000 to $15,000. Initially gave John Hoskins a 6 week leave and now it looks like he's been fired. Parkview refuses to answer my questions, sent Dr. Boord to handle this case and get it under control. Parkview endocrinology abandoned me in January by certified letter for asking too many questions and left me with no doctor for over a month until I could get an appointment with another endocrinologist. My first appointment with my new doctor confirmed everything I thought and I am now on my way to hopefully getting well. My health has been affected, I've lost nearly a year of my life and Parkview is now harassing me for the $15,000 even though I have been traumatized by them and have to completely start my treatment over. They continue to refuse to answer questions and clearly are trying to cover up what they and John Hoskins did to me.

I had the misfortune of being seen by him in the Parkview ER. I had returned for the second time in two weeks for a severe migraine. He didn’t listen to me at all. Made an immediate judgement that I was exaggerating my condition. Prescribed the exact same medications as the previous visit that had not helped. After I told him I wasn’t experiencing relief he told me he didn’t have any other way to treat me and discharged me.

I went to the ER with a moderate asthma attack with my husband. I was coughing, short of breath and dizzy. I followed the care plan outlined by my doctor to go to the ER for a rescue inhaler. I met with John Hoskins. I was struggling to speak but I repeatedly asked for a rescue inhaler. My husband explained I had asthma and use a daily inhaler but I’ve never had an attack this serious before. My husband also asked for an inhaler. My husband told them my doctor Told me to come and ask for a rescue inhaler. Hoskins told me I did not have asthma because I wasn’t wheezing. I told him I dont wheeze. He did not perform any tests to rule out asthma. He told me I needed to calm down and take some deep breaths. I explained I couldn’t take a deep breath. They told me it was anxiety. They forcibly gave me Two sedating meds. My husband witnessed me pull my arms away then They ran an X-ray without a pregnancy test and took my blood. They mislead my husband about my condItion. John was my preceptor on clinicals and I observed him interact with dozens of patients. He is a great guy, an excellent teacher, a consumate professional and an excellent PA. The anecdote about the threatening gesture is impossible to believe. There is more to this than the poster is telling about the kind of "care they were expecting."

He was working the Dupont Hospital emergency room one weekend and my wife and I had the bad luck of getting him as our provider. He was extremely rude, arrogant, and condescending and refused to give my wife the care she desperately needed. At one point, when confronted by me about his behavior and manner, he made a threatening gesture toward me. I certainly hope no one else is subjected to such terrible treatment as we were in our time of need. He should not be allowed to practice medicine.
