Kind of weird
Just a really weird appointment. I've seen physical therapists before but never had an appointment like this. I went in about a shoulder impingement, Jon was strange, And not helpful. He asked if i'd tried hanging. I told him that it hurt to raise my arm about my shoulder and he suggested that i do some breathing exercises for the pain. The appointment went on like that, every part of the conversation took us farther away from the reason I was there. A couple times during the appointment he called me a 'little girl' which was unsettling, I'm pretty sure I'm his senior. Would not recommend .

Claimed no knee or ankle injury, missed fracture
I was referred to Jon elvrom by primary care for pt and possible mri after a known incident which was caught on security camera. Despite being symptomatic for a broken ankle with swelling and pain, as well as major knee injury, Jon refused to order an mri or even an el cheapo ankle xray, claiming nothing was wrong with me and trying to get me to do squats, leg weight machine exercises, and multiple reps of clamshells on my likey acute avulsion fractured ankle. Thjs went on for 2+ years without my ankle being immobilized in a cast or boot like correct medical treatment. After switching to Kaiser Permanente, they agreed at least xrays were warranted. Kaiser told me that I had seriously injured my right knee and ankle during this incident, with a likely avulsion fracture, crushed and overstretched foot ligaments causing me to be able to laterally sublux hallux sesamoids on the right side, grew an ossicle on my likely avulsion fractured medial malleolus that Had set wrong.

Excellent
Jon was so great. I was unsure what to expect going in and he blew my mind. He knew exactly what I needed and was so thoughtful and helpful! I've been doing the exercises he showed me regularly and I can feel strength and posture improving. Thanks so much!

Precise therapy with great results
I (female, late 50s) was referred to Jon by UW Sports Medicine for pain from a torn rotator cuff. I was aware PT might not work but wanted to give it a try to avoid surgery if possible. Jon took time to explain the process we would go through and how the therapy should work, and it turned out exactly as he described. My shoulder pain resolved within weeks, and my range of movement was restored, all without surgery. I think that, because Jon really understands the body, he's able to be precise with his therapy. On top of that, he was patient, he listened, and he answered any questions I had. I have since recommended him to others.

Very happy patient – Aug 16, 2022

Painfully wrenched my neck and was sent to Jon for PT. While waiting to be seen by my MD and then waiting to see Jon, my symptoms mostly resolved (thank heavens!) but I kept the appointment in case I should be working on strength or flexibility to prevent it from happening again. After doing a very thorough workup, Jon gave me an informative big-picture understanding of my situation, which was reassuring, and then explained in detail the ways I could improve some of my body mechanics to help take some strain off of my neck (and, it turns out, off of my elbows; tight shoulders can put additional strain on your elbow joints and tendons/ligaments, too.) I appreciated his patient and kind explanation, demonstration of the exercises, and his offering to be available if and when I need in the future. I feel confident going forward! Finally, what an empathetic, interesting, and fun person to spend time with. An unexpected pleasure and huge bonus when you need a medical care provider.

i have spinal stenosis with sciatic pain and my primary care doctor recommended physical therapy...i made an appointment with jon elvrom and went to healthgrades to check his rating...imagine my dismay when i read the above review...after seeing him three times, i have decided to write this review because i have had the exact opposite experience with jon...i find him VERY knowledgable, kind, and patient...he listens to what i have to say and either makes a change or explains why the exercise should be done and how it will benefit me...and he has a sense of humor... v
