Dr. Josue Gonzalez, PHD

I was waiting on him to call me for our first visit, which he did not. He then had a temper tantrum and said he would not work with him. As any new patient, why would I call his phone if he is the Doctor? I wanted to be professional and wait for him.

I do not recommend. December 2019 I met Dr. Gonzalez for the first time. I let him know I am somewhat experienced in receiving counseling, and I specifically do not want - talk therapy. I sought a PhD because I wanted Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, CBT. I attended sessions every month for a year and every other week on and off. In January 2021, I concluded assessing what was going on and determined Dr. Gonzalez was not going to turn our talk therapy into thorough, down and dirty, CBT. I was in my last semester of graduate school and with most of my social work degree completed I was coming to understand what therapy is supposed to look like. Then, at the end of a separate couples counseling session, Dr. Gonzalez made his final, damning statement, "Okay, you are good and I don't need to see you anymore."
