During my husband's visit in the absence of his regular provider, he encountered an issue with Kala as a substitute provider, who took issue with his explanation of how he was taking his medication. Without further clarification, she discontinued his treatment and advised him to see his regular provider within a week. This led to the inconvenience and cost of arranging two appointments in quick succession. Subsequently, he was again placed on her schedule for an appointment by a doctor in the practice, which had been set for her for over a month. However, on the day of the appointment, after initial assessments and a lengthy wait, Nurse Kala chose to cancel his appointment, knowing he was out of a critical medication. Despite promising to prescribe a week's supply of the necessary medication, she failed to do so, resulting in him being without it for six days. The actions taken by Nurse Kala can only be described as spiteful and unprofessional.

During a recent visit to this health care provider's office, I encountered an unfortunate scenario owing to an unexpected change in providers due to my regular provider's absence. An appointment that had been on the books for over a month, arranged by my doctor, experienced an unforeseen cancellation. After undergoing the initial steps of the appointment, including a blood pressure check and a significant waiting period, I was informed of the cancellation. This was particularly distressing as I was in need of medication refill which was about to run out. While there was communication about a temporary week-long medication provision to bridge the gap, there appeared to be a misunderstanding or miscommunication regarding this stop-gap measure. This experience has highlighted the need for clearer communication and contingency planning in patient care, especially concerning medication continuity for patients during provider transitions.
