Dr. Karen Broer, PHD

Not everyone going to see professionals have the same experiences. I was her from March 2017 to September 2017 and the last time I saw her she proceeded to tell me maybe I was depressed because of how I saw life. As a person who studies psychology right now knows that's not something even remotely /okay/ to say to someone who comes to you with a plethora of issues and this was before she found out I had a CPTSD diagnosis. Before all that, she was quite unhelpful. If she worked for you then good.

Karen Broer is an excellent therapist who is smart, caring, engaging, and is able to discuss productive options. I have sent several other friends and colleagues to see her and they also had the same wonderful experiences.

I was shocked to read the negative review because my experience has been quite different. She has listened to me, was very understanding the one time I had to bring my kids and they tore up her office. She always has had words of encouragement for me and even of if it was short lived, I left feeling better about my situation. She also paid full attention to me unlike one counselor I was seeing who was constantly on her phone.

Sessions are quick. Quite sarcastic or isn't fully listening. The amount of money paid for her service week after week didn't seem to help any of my issues, nor does she really ask me questions or talking over you without letting someone just speak their mind. Also feels like a waste to talk about issues when nothing helped. She seems to find everything funny or have snarky responses, chuckling and assuming things when asking questions from the questionnaire. I wouldn't suggest anyone to her.
