Late, and not helpful...
On two of our three appointments, she was late. 5 minutes late on the first one (still kept the same end time which was frustrating so I only got a 45 min session), and 15 minutes on the second appt (she extended it roughly 8 minutes). I felt like the first 10 minutes were always wasted because she would make small talk and I am not entirely comfortable leading the conversation... She constantly said things like "I don't mean to be judgmental, but..." and also a lot of "if it were me, I would...". My goal for therapy was to deal more with my internal issues and how to manage my emotions, not be told how to do things differently than I was. I really felt like I was just chatting with a family member or something, not very professional.

Unprofessional and greedy. She showed up late, wearing a T-shirt. She received/read a text during my appointment. At the end, told me it will be $50 copay, not the $25 which is standard for my insurance. Emailed her to ask to verify the way it's being billed. No answer, just sent me a reminder every day to pay the inflated $50 fee. Well, I hope she enjoys the extra $25. I don't see how that could be worth her professional credibility, but I'm no 'doctor'. Her feedback did indicate she has some knowledge and qualifications on the treatment side of things, but if the client can't get that treatment fairly and professionally, what's the point? There are so many other therapists out there and they mostly seem to understand you shouldn't treat patients this way. Get one of them - not her.

I believe this provider may care more about money than truly helping. I am writing this as I do not want someone truly seeking care in short order to be tipped over the edge by someone who may not have the best interest of the patient in mind. Dr. Curtiss informed me she didn’t have time to verify my documents, but was able to “briefly review my insurance” (which was in the same attachment as other docs) and she was not in network/covered. She then canceled and blamed the fact I did not return forms “timely” as the reason. What she didn’t realize is that the name on my insurance card is a misnomer, and I actually have an open access PPO. However, the plan name on the insurance card typically indicates an HMO. On Thursday I scheduled an appointment online with Dr. Curtiss for initial session via FaceTime for the following Monday at 1:00 PM. That Sunday evening, I received paperwork that stated it needed to be returned by 8 am the following day; which was the same Monday my appointment

Alarmist messaging in intro email making you uncomfortable. Would not call to ask for insurance confirmation and instead removed my appointment
