Katherine is always proactive with my health. My endocrinologist sent me to Duke for a 4-D cat-scan on my thyroid about five weeks ago. Unknowingly to me, she read through it and advised there was a loose wire in my neck fusion C7-T1. I told her my neck had become 'crunchy' (without pain) laying on my left side at night. I had advised a neurologist more than a year ago who ordered an x-ray that he said was negative and, more or less, dismissed it. I advised Katherine that I recently found a neuro-surgeon in Leland that expressed minimally invasive procedures and who had great credentials. He reminded me of my neuro-surgeon on Long Island. I asked if I needed a referral if he was outside of Novant Health. She said 'yes' and, without my prompting, found him, verified it was the same doctor I referred to and entered a referral for me.This is typical for Katherine. She always goes above and beyond my maintenance visit every four months. I always feel well cared for by her.

Katherine did not assess me during this visit, nor did she address my worsening symptoms. She was extremely dismissive and I absolutely experienced medical gaslighting while in her office. I recommend avoiding her at all costs. A waste of time and precious energy. I’ve never felt so disregarded at the hands of a medical provider.
