Keirsten Montgomery, RN

I saw this PA because my Dr at this office had retired and I was assigned to this PA. I was excited that my A1C had dropped from 6.4 to 5.7, and I asked her if I might be able to reduce my medication in the future. She scoffed and said that I was already taking the maximum and that I would eventually develop a resistance to it and that I would then have full diabetes instead of Type 2 Diabetes. I was stunned that she would be so blunt and negative about it. That was four years ago and my A1C is now down to 5.1. The decrease was probably due to losing weight. I did not see this PA again, but I did see another PA at this office. Bottom line is that I did not appreciate the negativity and lack of encouragement from my health care provider. Luckily I can change providers, so I did. I will also be leaving the OC Endocrinologists office because the level of front office service and professionalism has fallen so far after Dr. Rettinger retired.

Keirsten was very knowledgable about my situation and reveiwed my records before seeing me. She was extremely pleasant, knowledgeable, and understanding, taking time to explain my condition and removing most of my worry. I look forward to my next appointment with her.

From my son's first day at CHOC (when he was little enough to stand in the circular window), Keirsten has been by our side. She is extremely knowledgeable and has made a very challenging situation seem manageable. Though there was an office 5 minutes from our house, we chose to travel 30-40 minutes so we could retain her expertise with our son. He is now a young adult and is thriving with the help Keirsten has given us over the last 11 years.

Dr. Montgomery is amazing!! Every endocrinologist talks about being a part of our 'team,' but with Keirsten she really does feel like you're all in it together. Not judgmental or harsh, just honestly interested in helping to fix whatever problems you may have.
