As a patient of Dr Schrier for several years, I trust his capability in examining my eyes. It is most unfortunate when a health care office extorts their patients. I must warn all that are thinking about visiting the office to get things in writing. During my eye exam with Dr. Schrier, I explained that I had begun to wear contacts. Dr. Schrier advised me when I return to pick up my new glasses, that I should wear the contacts to the office so he could check them. I made an appointment to return to the office but Dr.Schrier was out. Dr. Anna Kanes checked my contacts and concluded that I needed a stronger prescription and asked the optician to order samples for me. I asked the optician Ilona, if there would be any additional costs, she said "NO". The next day, I was told, if I wanted to correct my vision I would have to pay an additional $135 examination fee, on top of the $500 I already paid, in order to receive my updated examination prescription.
