I was assigned to Kim after my previous therapist left VBH. Upon meeting Kim, she barely got to know me by haphazardly skimming through previous therapist's notes. There were times she would ask me questions multiple times because she hadn't remembered that I already answered them. By the 3rd or 4th appointment with me she insisted on trying EMDR. Anyone who knows about EMDR knows that this is a therapy that focuses on bringing up past trauma again which is a very delicate and vulnerable process that can lead to further damage if not done correctly. Kim was extremely unhelpful while attempting to guide me through my first try at EMDR as she didn't use proper language and confused me throughout the process. I did more research on EMDR afterward, and I'm realizing how incredibly dangerous this was for me to do especially seeing as Kim barely knew me as a person through traditional therapy and was disrespectful to my personal boundaries as she was often late to my appointments.
