I have had symptoms for years that I just got use to having and stopped talking about them. At my first visit Kristi asked me all the right questions to gather information about my condition. The tests she ordered were all the right tests but all came back normal. Now I found out at a family gathering that Charot-Marie-Tooth (CMT) is a hereditary genetic muscular disease in our family. My grandfather and mother talked about symptoms but not the name of it. Kristi gave me another appointment right away to discuss CMT & genetic testing, because sometimes the EMG and ECV just don’t pick it up, especially if the tests were not done extensively for CMT. Now that we know the history of it in our family, I am thrilled to get help at last! To know I’m not crazy with my long list of discomforts. Family genetics really makes a difference! There are many types of CMT. It helps to know what to look for!
