Laryl was the Nurse Practitioner assigned to my case during my initial diagnosis with Dr. Lavigne in 2016. At the time I was 17 years old. Not only has she been close minded when it comes to holistic forms of treatment, but I also felt very talked at instead of heard. She was the type of individual where as long as you do what you’re told and don’t ask questions you’ll get along fine. Even into college as I pursued a degree in the medical field, she treated me like a child and told me “it was a mistake to let [me] make [my] own medical decisions” when I expressed that my goal was to eventually get off Humira/medication altogether. That was the last visit I ever had with her, and it has always left a sour taste in my mouth. My advice, don’t settle. Find a doctor/practice who wants to provide the best treatment for YOU.
