Seeing Lauren has been life changing for me. This is going to sound cheesy or like an ad, but I feel compelled to leave a review sharing all of these thoughts and feelings because of the impact Lauren has had on my life, and the fact that I want others to choose her as their therapist too. That way everyone can receive the help that they need and deserve. Plus, I know it’s REALLY hard, exhausting, emotionally draining and time consuming to try and find a good therapist, and I feel like I’ve absolutely found that in her, so I want to spare others that grueling search. To start, Lauren does remote sessions which have been huge for me. It’s so much easier to be vulnerable and candid about hard topics when you’re in the comfort of your own home. Plus you save on gas and travel time. Despite talking via video chat, Lauren radiates a warm, sunny, gentle energy that I find immensely comforting. She just seems like a kind, genuine soul, which makes it so much easier to open up to her. She has never judged me, said something that hurt my feelings, or been off putting to me in any way— even when I’m an absolute mess. She has only ever made me feel cared for, supported, and heard. The other thing is that I have never felt like a chore to her, even when I am not doing my best to help myself or if I feel like I’m being really annoying or overly sensitive about stuff. I have had MANY therapists throughout my life; some good, some bad. But regardless, Lauren is the first therapist I’ve seen that doesn’t make me dread sessions. I have zero anxiety about upcoming sessions even if I know we’re going to talk about hard topics! Instead of being stressful, sessions with her feel like catching up with a friend that you don’t see very often… you know, if your friend had all the answers and always knew the perfect things to say in order to drastically improve your quality of life lol. Don’t get me wrong, I know she’s my therapist and not a friend, but there is something to be said for a professional who can make you comfortable enough to forget that you’re receiving health care! I’m grateful for her casual and inviting environment because it takes away the stressful sterile feeling I had previously gotten about therapy before seeing her. Her therapy is interactive. She doesn’t sit there staring stoically and taking notes silently while she waits for you to talk. She helps you through it and prompts you. She doesn’t make you feel like someone is sitting there analyzing or judging you. She will laugh with you or validate your sadness in a way that feels more like she is experiencing these things with you rather than looking down at you from above while you reflect/talk through things. I am just so grateful to have found her, so I just had to get in here and sing her praises real quick. If you’re looking for a therapist, I hope this paints a picture for you of the care she offers her patients and what you can expect while working with her. You will be heard and valued and validated, not because it’s her job but because she just cares and thinks you deserve it.
