NP Lisa Gennovese is a provider who I have found to be harmful and unprofessional. Her behavior suggests that she may have been influenced by personal biases, particularly with regards to patients who identify as LGBT. I am concerned that she labeled me with ego-dystonic homosexual disorder, a diagnosis that was removed from the DSM in 1980. This experience has been distressing and my psychologist removed this diagnosis from my chart. It is essential for medical professionals to provide care that is free from personal biases and prejudices. I believe that NP Gennovese's behavior falls short of this standard, and I question her ability to provide safe and effective care. I am relieved to have found a new provider, Dr. Burkhart, who is exceptional and provides care that meets the highest standards of the medical profession. I hope that NP Gennovese will take steps to address her biases and improve her practice.
