Very early on, Lisa would say phrases such as "well, just stop thinking about him" or when speaking of trauma inflicted by other people, she said "they're allowed to do that to you". She also immediately became cold once the appointment was over, and was happy to escort me out the door, even when I was sobbing. There were multiple times where after a session, I felt much worse than when I began the session; there was even a point where she triggered feelings of suicidality by her behavior. When sobbing and exclaiming my difficulty in dealing with emotions, and crying out in frustration, Lisa raised her voice at me; I have NEVER seen a therapist do this before. Her profile says trauma informed but clearly she is not, as I have never before had these issues. I should not be starting a session feeling okay and leaving it feeling suicidal. I have since found a much more helpful therapist who does not trigger intense emotions or create a sense of an unsafe environment.
