Dr. Lisa Lentino, PHD

Overall, I wouldn't recommend Dr. Lentino. For one, I didn't find my sessions with Dr. Lentino to be particularly helpful. I only had a few sessions with her, but she would spend nearly every sessions talking about her book, or referring to sections of her book. I understand wanting a client to know you have a book they could read and reference in the time between sessions, but it felt disingenuous. She never said the book was required reading, so it felt like an advertisement more than anything each time it was brought up. In the end, our sessions stopped because she never got back to me when trying to book another appointment. That, on top of the sales pitch each session, was enough of a reason for me to just count my losses and move on.

Dr. Lentino has very calming and empathetic demeanor. She listens well and is always able to come up with ways of dealing with problems that I have not thought of. She is especially good at helping parents work on communicating with their children in regards to provoking constructive conversations, knowing "just how much" advice to give, and knowing when to step back. I cannot possibly recommend her highly enough.
