Lorene Greene, APN

I saw NP Lorene Greene for severe upper abdomen pain after a visit to the ER. She referred me to my GI doctor to which I made an appointment for an endoscopy in the coming weeks. She told me to contact her if the pain did not improve or got worse. When I did contact her because the pain was excruciating and the limited amount of pain medication given at the ER was gone, I was advised that this practice does not treat pain because they are a "family practice", and they referred me to the ER, urgent care or a pain management clinic (which would take a month to get an appointment with). What is the point of having a primary care provider if they cant help you when you are sick? I didn't need long term pain management. I needed help with short term pain relief until I had further testing to determine the problem. I will never return to this provider after the way I was dismissed. It is a horrible feeling to be in severe pain and your provider refuses to help you.

After countless appointments with different doctors and physicians, Nurse Greene was the FIRST one to realize that the pain I was experiencing may be neurological. I was skeptical at first, but took her advice on scheduling an appointment with a neurologist she referred me to. My appointment ended up being 6 months out, so when I first went to see a rheumatologist and they said the same thing she did, I was shocked AND GRATEFUL that she had realized what was going on and that my appointment with the neurologist was only a couple of more months away. Once again, after seeing the neurologist, there was further confirmation that Nurse Greene was correct. I cannot thank her enough for being a kind and knowledgeable person. It’s difficult to find physicians that really listen and take the time to put the pieces together these days it seems, but she is absolutely one of them.
