Lori Gauthier, RN

I went to the Christ Hospital ER in the spring of 2015 with extreme pain in my left leg. I knew I had a disc out & it was pressing on my sciatic nerve. Nurse Lori was & is the rudest, most condescending care provider I've ever encountered. She thought I was a drug-seeker, & when I told her, through tears & pain, that I thought I had a disc out, she scoffed & said, 'So are you a doctor?' When I said 'No,' she asked, 'Well, what do you want? You want some DRUGS to take the pain away?' in a snarky way, & I said, 'Imaging. Could someone please take an image of my back?' She laughed & said, 'You're not a doctor, & we don't have anyone here to do that. It's Sunday.' I ended up having emergency spinal surgery with Mayfield Clinic a few days later, but I endured 5 solid years of regular & painful physical therapy & have life-long nerve damage due to not being treated properly by Nurse Lori at CH Auburn. I truly hope she has learned from her mistakes, & I hope I'm able to forgive her someday.

Lori was my NP at the emergency room at Christ Hospital. She was condescending and profiled me as a drug seeker based on my symptoms and I assume on the clothes I had to wear (from my extreme abdominal discomfort.) I will never recommend or go back to Christ Hospital, specifically based on my experience with her. My mother is an NP and until meeting her, I had great faith in NPs' abilities to treat patients with respect and understanding.
