Dr. Lorraine Schnurr, PHD

Probably one of the worst therapy sessions I have had. Appointments felt rushed - basically spent the hour asking a list of questions from google. When she ran out of questions she would repeat some. I felt intimidated - when asked to reschedule one of my appointments she replied with a scathing email essentially shaming me for rescheduling instead of replying with options to reschedule. She released me back to work based on my medical records instead of actually evaluating my mental health. She made mention of her having a number of people she has to work with (essentially minimizing my emotions) and showcased that by disappearing from our appointment for 15 mins. She also released me back to work without making mention of it during one of our appointments. She also had a very condescending tone. I would not recommend her based on my experience.

Dr. Schnurr is a compassionate and objective thought-partner, I was relieved from symptoms of depressions and anxiety in an 8-week session provided by my employer. The strategies she provided to me have empowered me beyond the time that I spent with her to effective and pro-active tools to manage my stress and utilize the many self-care strategies available to me. Highly recommended to anyone, particularly women of color, seeking relief from stress of any sort.
