Excellent
I have known Dr. McFarr and her work for many years. She is highly respected in her field, with good reason. She usually has a wait list but it was worth it. I trust her with my loved ones, and their lives are better for it.

Outstanding Clinician, Director, Researcher
I've known Dr. McFarr for several years and can attest that she's a phenomenal clinician. I've observed her CBT and DBT skills groups, lectures and been involved in studies measuring treatment outcomes that many therapists do not include in their practice. Dr. McFarr ensures that the treatment she provides is effective based on scientific results because she genuinely cares about the well-being of her clients. Dr. McFarr has gone above and beyond to ensure I understood the treatment offered. She worked collaboratively with me to identify barriers that might get in the way of treatment and explored alternative options. She listened attentively to my concerns, and I always felt supported by her. She taught me how to be more self-compassionate with my emotions and validate my feelings while developing strategies to act in accordance with my values, which has helped increase my confidence and sense of self. It's no surprise that Dr. McFarr has won many awards for her unwavering commitment.

Proceed with caution
Please be careful seeking treatment from Dr. McFarr's business, CBT California. I was Dr. McFarr's patient for 12 years. When I asked for my records (which doctors are legally obligated to provide), Dr. McFarr admitted to me in an email that due to "clerical error" my records were destroyed "accidentally." She said in the email that they "shouldn't have been shredded." However, I do not believe it was an accident as I had previously sent her an email detailing what I felt were mistakes she made with my treatment. It was only after this and after I had requested my records that Dr. McFarr claimed the records were destroyed. When I asked if any other patient records were accidentally destroyed, she said "I cannot speak to anyone else's chart."

The likelihood that I would ever recommend Ms. McFarr to anyone is zero stars. Her approach to behavior and emotional modification felt really outdated to me. She claimed to promote CBT but it seemed to me that she was more interested in pinning a stigmatizing label unto me, whilst at the same time refusing to view medical records showing I had neurological/brain injury. MEDICAL DIAGNOSTICS. NEUROLOGICAL/ brain injury. She was not interested. Lucky me, because I found a really compassionate psychologist to help me deal with post tbi. I recommend Ms. Mcfarr zero stars.

I have worked with far too many psychotherapists throughout the years and Dr. McFarr saved my life. I am finally able to function and go about my life. I can’t thank her enough for where I am.

Lynn was a terrible choice for my sister. She has been incredibly focused and steadfast on a particular diagnosis (or should I say misdiagnosis) and no information will sway her otherwise. Lynn has a Svengali like pull with her patients. Be careful sending your family members here.
