My mother registered me to see Dr. Dillworth when I was 16 after she learned that I am gay. I attended bi-weekly phone conversion treatment for several months. This traumatized me more than the events that lead to therapy. I wish someone would have protected me from Dr. Dillworth at a young age, so that I could have developed without the toxic shame and existential dread that this practitioner employed as his treatment approach. He told me that as long as I was attracted to people of the same sex, I could never have a close relationship with God. He said that my same-sex attraction (which he calls SSA), may never go away and that I could learn to live in denial of it. I eventually pretended to turn straight so that the appointments would end. He gave a progress report to my mother about the change in my sexuality, which never actually occurred. Marc Dillworth places a personal, non-evidence-based layer of religion atop psychology, which is coercive and manipulating to vulnerable youth.

I started phone sessions with Dr Dillworth 5 yrs ago, I realized after my mother died in 2011 that I never dealt with the verbal and emotional abuse my father did to me I also couldn’t cope with my mothers death, without Dr. Dillworth I wouldn’t have been able to heal from what my father did to me. I have had therapy before, but I always felt depressed after sessions I don’t feel that way with Dr. Dillworth I would recommend him to anyone who needs therapy.

I have confided in Dr. Dillworth on and off throughout my high school/college career pertaining to personal, familial, and spiritual growth. He is a keen communicator/listener and never once did I feel judged. Simply put, my life has forever been changed for the better due to his ability to dissect the roof of the problem and his wisdom in life. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Dillworth! Additionally, I cannot provide office ratings as I spoke with him via phone and Skype.

Dr. Dillworth’s counseling has been a life changer for me. I most appreciate that he was unafraid to tell me the truth. Sometimes it made me mad, but what good is a counselor if they just tell you what you want to hear? Over time he helped me to see that my anger and defensiveness were the smoke that signaled where the fire was. He is a good listener, but also very adept at refocusing the conversation and keeping things on track instead meandering in circles. And we always ended with prayer!

Dr. Marc Dillworth was such a blessing to me and my husband. After unloading all of our marital issues, Dr Marc gave us the tools to save our marriage. He was unbiased, fail and nothing but professional in each of our sessions. He listened intently. He did not judge me or my husband. He just wanted to help us resolve our differences and save the marriage. Will refer friends and family. If needed would most definitely use his services again.
