She is very kind, caring, and helpful. She treats you as a true friend, and is genuinely sympathetic and actively responsive to your individual needs, feelings, and so on. Much of the help I gained from her was simply third-party reassurance --- I told her the issues I'd been having with others, and she said that everything I'd been doing in my attempts to handle the situations seemed correct to her. It was almost like she was saying, "My counselling advice to you is that you don't actually need counselling in this case; you seem to be behaving in the appropriate way." That gave me a lot of encouragement and self-confidence to proceed, and I subsequently found that the problems in question seemed less stressful overall, now that the doubt and its resulting potential false guilt had been removed. Just knowing that someone else with more social experience and an unbiased opinion views your choices as being correct can be a huge boost to your mind as you forge ahead.
