Inappropriate Behavior Not Professional at all
Telehealth
Dr Mark Brooks was very rude & arrogant. I did not speak up initially when I was uncomfortable because I felt intimidated to say the least. When he had asked me several questions about my past mental health history I proceeded to tell him & he told me I don’t need all the details just yes or no. He told me to shut up when I was talking & said that my trauma wasn’t really trauma. He then proceeded to ask me if I have ever been diagnosed with a list of certain diagnosis's & when I had told when I was a minor I was misdiagnosed & overdosed with 8 different meds he told me that whatever anyone told me that they are probably good people but that he’s the doctor & he’s gonna tell me what I have. I was beyond shocked that someone in this field could treat a patient that way let alone any professional had the audacity to tell them to shut up. I personally don’t think he should be able to work in this field unless he changes his ways. This was absolutely unacceptable!!!!!

He is kinder than his reviews
Telehealth
I wanted to clarify for those who may see negative reviews and worry. Dr. Brooks is efficient at doing his job as far as I'm concerned. He is asking simple yes and no questions and trying to keep you on point. He does not have an attitude issue, he is quite friendly in my opinion. Just stay on course (for me not always easy) and your telehealth will go smoothly. Even while efficient, he will get you smiling and a laugh if you don't take it personal that he is just doing his job by trying to keep you answering without longwinded stories of your problems.

Had a med exam with him and he was so kind, funny and attentive. Time was obviously important, so he had to redirect me back to the exam sometimes but he was great to speak with. He made me smile ! nice guy.

I wish he offered other therapeutic services
Telehealth
Dr Brooks was extremely patient and kind. He had a sense of humor even though he was busy and dealing with emergency situations as well as our appointment. He made myself and my adult son feel comfortable and that’s not easy to do. My son warmed right up and that’s rare for my son . I wish he offered psych. Services other than just evaluations. He was friendly and calm and walked us through everything as it was our first time doing a social security disability evaluation. He was straightforward and informative as well as asked the right questions . I would recommend dr brooks to others including professional services like SSDI & SSI. It was a pleasure to meet Dr. Brooks snd would gladly meet with him in the future as well as recommend other families that are dealing with similar issues as myself.

Sense of humour and connection
I feel bad for the people who had negative experiences and left the bad reviews. He has a very specific job to do and gets that job done. He wasn't rude though. Just knew how to cut through the red tape of SS. He was funny. Intelligent. Personal. He listened in a patient way and didn't make me feel like most of these type of people do. I felt seen and heared. I think some people are confused on the rules of SSI and what he needs to do. If you remember he's working off a to do list though, it helps. I wish I could speak with him more. After all the questions he stayed on just to talk. Took his time and showed who he truly is. I respect him for his work and enjoyed his personality and how real he is. Unique individual that knows what he's doing. Was like having Thanksgiving with a distant uncle. I thoroughly enjoyed it and completed the task at hand.

Looks 2 me like HE left the 2 good reviews HIMSELF! He "doesn't need UR life story" b/c the SS Admin. GIVES him ALL the info you fill out BEFOREHAND. I went in 4 an evaluation from Mass Rehab 2 get on disability JUST (temporarily) 2 get treated 4 depression, anxiety & ptsd. After his yes/no interrogation I was deemed "not disabled enough". I could have been WELL by now! HE VIOLATED HIS OATH 2 "do no harm". Based on all the reviews it looks like he doesn't treat anyone w/RESPECT or DIGNITY! The worst part is he has ZERO CONSEQUENCES 4 his behavior! W/out consequences he will NOT CHANGE how he treats people! I wish I would have looked up reviews 4 him B4 I went in. I didn't b/c I trusted he would be professional like MY psychologist & job counselor. I wish I would have RECORDED the whole thing & been able 2 post a VIDEO here so everyone could see the TRUTH about how he acts! He doesn't deserve ANY stars!

He is clearly suffering from the Dunning - Kruger Effect (look it up, it describes him perfectly!) I gave him my ID 2 start filling out his dumb yes/no form & when it looked like he was done I went 2 reach 4 it & he yelled, "BUP BUP BUP!" (I couldn't believe it, this is NOT the behavior of a professional!) During my 30 minutes with him he also gave me a little speech THREE times..."This isn't supposed to be a free therapy session...I'm not supposed to judge you (although he already had based on the ton of info I had previously filled out for the SS.), that's not my job....blah, blah, blah (this is when my ears turned OFF, they do that when I KNOW someone is trying to MANIPULATE me.)...(I drifted a bit because of his arrogance)...be asking you questions blah, blah, blah, ...answers, and if I think you're getting off track I'll stop you." For everyone who has had a bad experience with him, file a formal complaint with the Psychologists Licensing Board. He MUST be stopped!

Dr. Mark Brooks should not be allowed to practice. He comes off as arrogant and crass. He asks questions then answers them himself without giving you an opportunity. He is the most unprofessional doctor I have ever dealt with and wouldn't recommend him to my worst enemy. He insulted me multiple times during my one and only visit and acted as if I was wasting his time. Quack with a capital "Q". I'd like to give -0 stars. If you are referred to him from Social Security disabilty, request someone e

He was rude, condescending and UNPROFESSIONAL. He was asleep when I arrived! I only saw some knees in the "patient" chair and waited politely for 10 minutes so as not to disrupt someone else's time, but it was him! Because of this his first question to me was, "You're going to be LATE for an appointment, what do you do?" He then RAILROADED me through an outdated Yes or No questionnaire. NEGATIVE FIVE STARS! He's a JERK!!!!!!!!!!!

As he is abrupt and considered by other people rude, he is good at what he does. He doesn't need your life story to paint an incredibly accurate picture of what it is you're there for. His abruptness shouldn't be considered as uncaring, his pen is the only thing that takes the brunt of his approach.
