Well, I thought I would give her a chance regardless of the negative reviews, but those folks were right- she is terrible :( Save yourself some time and heed these reviews because they are true! Nurse Anker should not be in public practice and I dont know how the doctors at the NBMC Bandon let her continue!

What they all said! I have experienced all of the above and more. Horrible person who has no business being in the medical field. I don't need a doctor to be all sweetness and light, but she has absolutely no bedside manner. She is rude, doesn't listen, cuts you off when you are trying to explain a problem or concern. And god forbid you not want to do exactly what she wants you do do in terms of treatment. That is clearly an attack on her ego and she doesn't react well to it. She tried to tell me that if I didn't do tests that she recommended (mammogram and colonoscopy, which I have no problem doing but not at this particular time due to other health issues that I was having-and I told her that) my health insurance company would potential drop me. That is complete nonsense of course, but she tried very hard to make me believe that this was somehow putting my health insurance coverage at risk. Wish I had not wasted my time with her.

Nurse Anker does not seem to have the compassion and bed side manner needed to truly connect with her patients. I often feel rushed in my appts and I am hesitant to bring up any concerns lest she brush them off as if they are of no concern without first even really listening to me. I feel like she just touches the surface with her patients, like she doesnt want to go any deeper which in the medical field is wrong. I may have to look for another.

While reviewing the results of a lab test, she pointed to a lab score and asked me to explain it. I looked at her in bewilderment and said I had no idea. I am not a medical professional and could not possibly know what conditions or habits would affect this. I, too, have felt condescension from her and confrontation when a little more concern and friendliness would have put us on the same team.

Mary Anker always leaves me with a feeling of being “bad” when I leave my appointment. She talks rudely and down to me. I have several diagnosed disorders for which I require medications (by psychiatrists and doctors) which she has threatened to withhold. Everytime I leave her office, it is with increased anxiety and without feeling like I was taken care of. I absolutely would go to anybody else if you are able. I’m working on getting someone else!

She was atrocious: confrontational, condescending, and completely unprofessional. I had heard bad things about an NP in Bandon, not knowing it was her. They were all true.

My mother is an invalid and requires 24 hour care. When I try to convey some concern I have for my mother, she will say to me "are YOU the patient?". My mother had a stroke last year and suffered brain damage. My mother's perception of her reality is not reality. Dr. Anker really provides no care for my mother when she ignores the person that provides her care.

Been seeing her for a while (not sure why) you never know what kind of mood you will find her in. Last few times she has been horrible. Would not recommend to anyone. She put me on more meds, not sure I need them, so now I have to monitor myself every few hours.

She did not listen well, she was argumentative and did an absurd test to try to convince me that I did not have a condition that had been diagnosed and confirmed by at least a dozen doctors over the prior twenty years.
