Matthew Glass, LCSW

When I first saw Matthew, it was once a week and I was a mess. Stressed out, overloaded, concerned only with reading and educating myself with my bone cancer, alone, freaked out. Now after a year, I feel I can tell him anything and get some real feedback. For example, once he told me that I was sabotaging myself when looking at it, he was right. He's very nice, very educated, I keep learning more and more from him. I feel that now I have a life, I no longer lookup cancer reports, I'm more relaxed, I still am sabotaging my boyfriend's relationship but the advise I get from Matt helps me figure out how to fix it. I recommend him to anyone who needs help. He's still not done helping me. His stories about himself or family really relate to my situations, which don't seem to disappear. I was dead set against going on anti-depresses but he help me change my mind. Also his acronyms are the best; STOP, Emotions are not truths, We are ruled by our beliefs which may be false.

Matthew Glass has been exactly what I needed in providing the means and opportunity for growth and change to occur. He is a teacher and a craftsman, drawing on a wide range of tools based on the understanding that our thoughts, feelings, and actions are related and can be managed and changed. He is patient and challenging and wise and has been a gift to me.

I began working with Matthew in a crisis. He dealt immediately with the crisis and was available whenever I needed him. He then began focusing on helping me respond to my challenges in a thinking way (rather than focusing on analyzing where they came from). I find that his approach to counseling is immediately beneficial because I can “move away” from the problem and function. He is patient, reassuring, and knowledgeable. He explains why he is recommending specific ideas. I am now getting better. I would recommend him in a heartbeat.

A lot can be said about therapists but until you need one, you will never understand the importance of such. As a professional, I understood the process but never realized the importance, until I needed one for myself! My wife made an appointment with Mathew Glass, a true gentleman 20+ yrs younger than I. His knowledge, personality and common sense approach, has helped me to understand exactly who I am and the actions needed to maintain my mental and physical health!

I have been with Matthew Glass for over a year now, He has brought me to a level of much better understanding of myself . He has taught me Mindfulness. To not just react to situations, but to think about them first. It has been a great pleasure to be able to work through issues with him. Simply, Matthew is wonderful. He's compassionate, caring, knowledgeable and has helped me with the grief of my Husband, getting past an abusive relationship with someone after my Husband passed away, and numerous other life issues.. His help has allowed me to move ahead and learn to live with grief but not have it dominate my life. I will be forever grateful for his help.
