Condescending. Dismissive.
I saw this PA in Urgent Care for a probable sinus infection. He made eye contact with me maybe once during the visit. I’m a respiratory therapist and am pretty sure I am familiar with symptoms of sinus infection/bronchitis. Without listening, he proceeded to tell me I could get CDIFF and horrible diarrhea if I took abx without needing it. He kept saying “but - you do what you want”. He suggested I use a nasal spray , but when I told him I had been using an OTC sinus decongestant he said “well, you do what you want”. Also, the visit notes were not correct. He added that we spoke about things that we didn’t. His bedside manner was gruff and condescending. No dialogue with his patients. It’s was a monologue, belittling and dismissive.

I am grateful to have encountered a medical professional with this high standard of integrity. I lament the scattering of negative reviews which were placed without explanation here. I would like to see more like Mr. Trom in the medical field. Relational and healthy-minded people, who can see beyond simplistic and limited medical scope in order to see the whole person and work together with them.

How did this person ever graduate? I saw him twice. First time, my shoulder hurt so bad I couldn't move my arm. He had no idea and told me to give it 2 weeks and if not better, see sports med doctor. Nothing for pain, no imaging, nothing. Six weeks later, after seeing a specialist twice with no clue,, i saw a doctor who did ultrasound and yes,, multiple partial tears in rotator cuff. Chiropractor said my arm wasn't in the socket correctly. Second time, it was for the same shoulder but months later. My arm was not in the socket correctly and it was 5:00 on a friday. He had no suggestions other than I should see sports med doctor the following week. I went to a chiropractor who put my arm back in place.

Liar
Literally lied on a follow up report he wrote and stated he called me to read through results when I had to call after waiting for hours to hear from anyone. Then when I discussed this with him on the phone, he hung up on me. Also, did not offer any definitives or continuing care. "If it hurts, use a sling. If it doesn't hurt, don't." When I asked about working out or a timeline to full recovery I received the same "If it hurts, don't do it."

Asked for a HIV and STD test, and he pushed his core values on me and told me that sex belongs in marriage. Not everyone shares the same values as him, and its wrong to push it on others. NOT LGBT+ FRIENDLY EITHER.
