Best therapist ever!

I saw this woman after my parents tragically died in 2008 and our sessions still haunt me. She basically would have my grandmother sit in the sessions and talk crap about my aunt that wanted to adopt me. Read my private journal to my grandmother out loud and prescribed me a depression med for adults. I hated going every session and honestly wanted to die.

This counselor’s TONE in conversation with adults is as they are children. She led the conversation in feeding answers with her questions. We learn in our education with counseling, feeding biased questions is not how you get HONEST answers out of children.The wording of your questions are of utmost importance. 1 ) to ensure comprehension 2) so that their answers are not influenced by the questions you provide them.I find her methods VERY unacceptable especially in her communication with adults. Talking in a condescending manner with anyone with NO CARE, is not what counseling is about. I truly believe that she feels she can be degrading to anyone and her lack of compassion is apparent. You can guide without the condescending tone. Accusatory feeding questions are not the a great method. VERY disappointed, 20 years working with children besides my own, I have never had to make my clients, students or their parents feel less than equal in communication in any conversations.
