I had a terrible experience with GW faculty midwives, particularly with certified nurse midwife Melinda Fowler. I sought midwifery care for a breast-tissue concern, expecting compassion and understanding. Instead, before entering the room, I overheard Melinda shouting and complaining about me wasting her time. When she entered, she directly accused me of this. Though she realized her mistake, her subsequent questions were poorly articulated, and she showed frustration with my answers. Her treatment was unprofessional, lacking any apology. As a Black woman, I left feeling abused and mistreated by someone who should support her community. I strongly advise avoiding this provider. As a birth worker familiar with compassionate care, this was the worst experience I've ever had.
