Dr. Melodie Schaefer, PSY.D

I have been seeing her for two years, on a less and less frequent basis. I had to retire early due to depression, anxiety and panic attacks. During each visit she intuitively knows exactly what mix of encouragement and "lecturing" to use to get me to understand what I needed to do to get better. If I need to be told everything is okay, she tells me. If I need to be told that I need to do better in certain areas, she says that. She has always said exactly what I needed to hear in each visit to let me take steps to heal myself. I can have a brief pity party occasionally, but then I have to pick myself up and move forward. She is exactly whom you would see if you want to heal yourself, with expert guidance. She is a treasure and I trust her implicitly.

Truly strange person- condescending, lacks empathy. Clearly very smart but comes across as unkind.

Dr. Melodie Schafer is far and away the most skilled, professional and effective therapist I've been to. I've been to two other therapist and they don't even compare. I started with personal therapy and later couples counseling. I can't begin to put into words the work we've done and how much better I am now. On both the personal and relationship fronts there there has been marked results. She will challenge you to grow and help show you the blindspots that are holding you back. If you are interested in really getting help and going deep, then she is the one to see. This is not easy work by any means, it's some of the most challenging work I've ever done both personally and in my relationship on every level . The rewards for showing up and doing the work are immense. I can't recommend her enough, and if you are fortunate to work with her and commit to a length of time, I'm positive you will se results.
