1st time seeing him
Dr Ranum has a great personality, he explained things to me so I could understand the information. He had reviwed my information from my previous provider with Dakota Eye and didn't force me to change type of contacts at this time since I still have a supply at home. He updated my script for the new ones when I need to order more. It was an awesome 1st visit with him! I will continue to see him as long as he stays with Dakota Eye! You need to keep him long term!

Eye Exam- thorough

Optomap Results
Dr Ranum does a good job. I have no issues with him. However, when I showed up for my appt, I agreed to pay for the Optomap retinal test. I was to have the test before seeing Dr Ranum. Turns out that the testing room was occupied. I ended up taking the test after seeing Dr. Ranum. I was under the assumption that I would be shown the test results before I left. But I left without seeing anything. I feel I just wasted $45 especially since my next appt is 1 year from now.

Great with my kids!
Dr. Renum is always friendly and professional. He is able to work quickly but doesn't make us feel rushed. My kids enjoy their eye appointments. The beautiful photography in his office is an added bonus.

Follow up for glasses after cataract surgery
He was 40 min behind schedule and tried to make it up by rushing me. Told me I was making my glasses decision more difficult than need be. My eyes are very important. That’s why I had the surgery. But when I tried to ask about my blurry vision and glasses decision I was told it’s not that difficult. I felt rushed and belittled. Way different than the first time I saw him. Dakota eye in general has become disappointing.
