AWESOME NP. She to me is my Doctor Endocrinologist
Michele is always thorough, caring and honest. If you're not doing what you're suppose to do, then her tough love comes out. To some they may take it as rude and uncaring. But that is easily mistaken especially if your sugar is not where it needs to be. Then you may take offense in what she is trying to help and explain to you. Michele is actually a consistent Practitioner who really cares for each and everyone of her patients. She is always looking to better her client’s diabetic situation and help them live as a healthy diabetic. Michele is truly a remarkable practioner that she really is better than some of the practicing endocrinologists (no pun intended, just my honest opinion). She is and has always been dedicated to help each of her patients reach their maximum potential to live a healthy life with properly managing their diabetes. I would recommend her to every diabetic that needs an effective doctor. You won't be disappointed.

Felt undermined and unimportant
After waiting months for this appointment a nursing student, who went on to act as my doctor for about 30min ran the appointment and over-explained everything in a condescending way. After time passes, he tells me he will fill the doctor in. I have never had an appointment run this way. Michele Laine then comes in with the student, speaks for about 3min about the summarized and inaccurate summary she got from the student. Her suggestion was that my problem, addressing one symptom, is from my meds that I started way after this symptom. She checks my thyroid, and then she’s done with me. I was disappointed that I had to wait so long to primarily explain my symptoms to a student instead of a doctor. They were not professional and it felt like I was barely in the room when they were both in there. They joked that they are “so useless”.. right in front of me, a patient who is there for medical help. The appointment just felt super demeaning.

I have been seeing Michele for many years. Today I have had enough and am looking for a new doctor. When I asked her a question about the eye doctor I saw, her response was...”I don’t know, I’m not your mother”. I waited over an hour in the office and when the office staff couldn’t get my insulin pump to download she said,”I don’t have time for this.” Then walked out of the room. She is knowledgeable but so are many other doctors and they will treat you much nicer.

I highly recommend Ms. Laine. I am a type 1 brittle diabetic (adult onset- 23 years.) In my book, Laine is THE medical practitioner for type 1 diabetes. She is current with new technology, with new medications, and with advances in the science of diabetes. She is a type 1 diabetic herself, a wife/ mother, and a Zumba instructor. She gets the lifestyle issues involved. She uses a service dog. She is patient and empathetic. What more can a diabetic ask for in a practitioner?

Rude and unprofessional. Not a good listener or at all empathetic about patients illness, when necessary. When asked questions she gets defensive and informs you that she's " only been doing this for 25 years". She couldn't even figure out how to give me the appropriate dose of medication and gave me wrong information about my illness. Very officious and unkind.

I came into the office for my follow up visit and was treated like I was wasting her time. When I presented at 1 visit my blood sugar was I the 500 range. I guess I was acting a little goofy bc she ordered a drug and alcohol screen (without asking my consent). She said the test came back + for alcohol. I tried explaining I did NOT drink AT ALL and my partner assured her he'd been with me all day and I did not drink AT ALL She called us both liars and was beyond rude.

Michele is THE person to see if your looking for someone with experience in Type 1 Diabetes (T1D). I can't recommend her enough! She is easy to talk to, listens effectively, and has reasonable action plans for patients. She lives with T1D, meaning that she knows what it's like to deal with this disease through personal experience - not many providers have this level of understanding. If you're looking for a new provider, stop your search right now.

She's knowledgeable, personable, and very experienced. She was recommended to me by my longtime endo, Dr. David Leonard when he retired. So glad to have tried this office out.
