I have been working with many therapists. Several have had a lot of credentials. On many levels, I felt that they were overbearing about what I should do with my life and the best/only way to treat my condition. However. Dr. Conover has a passion for people. She brings a lot more to the table because she has the same level if not more credentials, but I accepted the medication and treatment WE agreed upon. A cynic may say it was my time, but my heart trusted her judgement and intentions to help

For those who fear therapy, as I have because in my 20 years I felt strung along and doused with a label/misdiagnosis. Dr. Conover encourages active participation when it is appropriate. This means that when she makes an assessment/diagnosis, she will provide background of the disorder and you are free to agree or disagree. When you both come to an agreement she provides you with the tools to turn the diagnosis into a strength as opposed to a crutch. Therapy=an ongoing process of self discovery.

I felt Dr. Conover was not a therapist who provided me with tidbits of information in order to keep me in therapy forever.I was labeled by several professors with having a learning disability. I was given an extension to complete my Master's thesis. Nevertheless, while undergoing approximately six months of treatment for ADD, I completed my 150 page thesis and a 255 page miniseries. I wish I was still living in Los Angeles County because I would benefit greatly for her boot camp for the brain.
