Mimi is fantastic
Telehealth
It is not an exaggeration to say that Mimi has helped to change my life drastically in a positive way. I started the CPT program thinking that I was just going to be on an assembly line beauracratic process of going through the motions with my most intimate traumas. However, glad am I to report that my cynical nature proved to be wrong. She genuinely cares about people. She listened to everything I had to say to the best of her ability and gave me genuine feedback. I wrote a lot and talked a lot and I was afraid that the person on the other end was going to get bored or just nod along and pretend to care; or that she would just be agreeable, but offer no real solutions. However, for example, when I was sharing my story, I would often make statements confusing my thoughts about the event and my feelings about the event. She helped me clarify the two. She is highly competent and empathetic. The two best traits for a therapist. Easiest 5 star review I've ever given.

Mimi is fabulous. I have tried 2 other therapists for my daughter who struggles with behavioral adn impulse control. Mimi does actual "lessons" each session, using art/ drawings my daughter takes home, and allows her to have some play time at the end (which keeps her engaged b/c mimi has some awesome toys in her office!) I feel Mimi's sessions are valuable and we walk away learning/practicing a skill rather than jut talking about the problem

Our 9 year-old had issues with anger/defiance. We decided to try counseling and Mimi Ogasawara-Whithead was recommended to us. She has a compassionate, thoughtful and practical approach to teaching pragmatic life skills that help our child effectively deal with feelings and situations. She also provided us with helpful ideas to ensure we were on the same page when responding to our child's behaviors. Our child's behavior has dramatically improved and we have much more peace in our house.

I have nothing but positive things to say about Mimi! She is great! She has really helped me systematically and thoroughly address my mental health concerns. She is very caring and a thoughtful listener. She frequently recalls our prior discussions during sessions, so I know she is paying attention and understands my history. Her advice is thoughtful and has definitely helped me break through the challenges I'm working on. Her personality is friendly and welcoming. Exactly what I needed!!

My daughter (age 6) is a current client of Mimi's and I have to say, I really adore her. She recognizes the strengths of my daughter and ensures that her interventions are at the appropriate level to meet my daughter's needs. Honestly, it's really hard to find the right "fit" for a counselor, but I'm confident that I've found the right provider for my daughter. She's kind, caring, compassionate, and very focused on helping my daughter through this difficult time.
