I can’t say enough good things about my experience with Misty. From the very first appointment I knew how special she was. Misty made me feel seen, heard, and genuinely cared for every step of the way. Her calm, confident presence brought so much peace to my pregnancy, and her knowledge and support were invaluable during and after birth. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone.

Misty and maggie supported me through my third pregnancy, birth and postpartum. From our first (free) consultation I fell in love with their nurturing approach. They’re both so genuine and offer professional and loving support to mothers and babies. They give space and meet you where you’re at and to me there is no better thing when you’re pregnant and postpartum. Bonus is Misty is an experienced herbalist that makes specialized teas and tinctures for women in all seasons of life. They were simultaneously hands off and supportive in all the right ways during my birth in order to allow the labor to progress in the most biologically normal way it’s supposed to. I had a wonderful 7 hour labor that ended in a water birth in the tub that they brought and set up (inc low lit fairy lights to set the mood). Before they left they insured the baby and I were both stable after a couple of hours, tucked in bed, and with food and water at my bedside.

It’s been one month since our daughter was born and I am still processing our birth experience but one thing is for sure, we could not have done it without Misty and Maggie by our side. We decided to do co - care for the first 20 weeks as this was my first pregnancy and considered “geriatric” I was relieved when we transitioned to midwifery appointments, they were empowering - more intuitive and less text book. 5 days after my due date I had to go into the hospital because of elevated blood pressure readings . After 2 days in the hospital and lots of intervention our baby girl was born by way of C section. This was not the home birth I hoped for, but Misty and Maggie were by our side every step of the way. They explained things, and advocated for us. They provided the warm touch that is missing in the hospital care. Whether you are considering a home birth or a hospital birth I 100% recommend having these ladies by your side.

As most new dads go, I was uneducated, under-prepared, and a bit skeptical of what midwifery entailed prior to our engagement. That changed from day one of meeting Misty and Maggie, and got better and better throughout our entire pregnancy. Supportive, informative, loving, diligent, kind, funny, strong, reliable, willing, able, 100% professional, and just about every other positive you could list. I'm a tough critic, and can honestly say from the bottom of my heart I cannot and would not want to imagine having this experience without them. I am so appreciative for their participation before, during (and, it was not easy), and after care. It's all been truly above and beyond expectations. We are better parents and better people because of meeting them and sharing this incredible experience together. They are now and forever integral members of our family. Katie, little Maxine, and I have nothing but love for them. If, considering midwifery, they are the clear and easy choice.

Misty and Maggie were the dream team hire for my home birth! Office visits were so cozy and we spent way more personal time with each appointment than I ever did in all my previous appointments at an OB’s office combined (I transferred care around 20weeks). From discussing concerns and endless questions, helping alleviate anxieties from my partner, holistic approaches to symptom management, diet and nutrition education, and much more! My favorite aspect had to be the personalized at-home postpartum care. I ended up building a beautiful relationship with those who would hold and care for my baby with respect, and always always consent when it came to my body and my baby. Nothing better than resting in your own bed and having someone come to your home for not one but three in-home postpartum visits.Hiring them as my medical providers for my home birth was the best decision I made for my journey into motherhood and I would happily do so again for the next one!

I found misty and Maggie toward the end of my pregnancy and it was almost as if the stars aligned because everything happened just right! Out of the three births, I have experience this was my most peaceful! They went out of their way to make my birth everything I wished it to be!

We switched to midwifery care with Misty and Maggie at 20wks. The care we received was so thoughtful and empowering. I thoroughly enjoyed each visit to check in on not just baby, but overall well being of mama & dada also. Their innate knowledge around pregnancy and birth is so calming. As a first time mama, I never felt anxious or afraid of birth being in their care. I would recommend anyone who is pregnant or planning to be pregnant to consider this team if not for a home birth but for the prenatal care and doula support.

Misty (and her assistant, Maggie) offered excellent care for my home birth experience. They were willing and able to attend my birth in Truckee in the winter, which is an hour and a half drive on icy roads for them. As and herbalist, Misty offered excellent guidance for supplements during pregnancy and postpartum. They allowed and encouraged my 6yr old to be involved with the birth of his brother, helping him cut the umbilical cord. Misty was able to diagnose my newborn’s tongue and lip tie when he was just two days old and got me an appointment to get it revised by day 5. I’m so grateful for her care; things would have been much harder with out her.

Misty and Maggie were such a gift throughout my experience of bringing my first child into this world. Throughout my prenatal, birthing, and postpartum experience they were so supportive, available, and honest. For me personally, it was the perfect fit for what I needed and I had the outcome I was working toward. I would highly recommend them both!

I cannot say enough positive things about Misty's practice. I came into her care searching for a specific need and she met me where I was at. I was able to reach her anytime I needed, and she also had a team of support to help me in areas she couldn't. I highly recommend her as a provider and I am happy with how thorough she was. We are forever grateful!

Misty was our midwife for both of our sons births. From the prenatal care to labor and delivery to postpartum and beyond, Misty was a compassionate and comprehensive provider for our family. With my second child, we transferred to the hospital. Misty was with us every step of the way, facilitating the most pleasant experience considering it was not a part of our birth plan. I can’t say enough good about Misty and her team. My family and I highly recommend her for those wanting a home delivery.

Misty’s care is thorough, kind, and very real. From the very first appointment through birth and then after care, she listens and then provides you with all the info needed to make the best decisions for yourself and baby. I never felt like I was bothering her or asking dumb questions and I felt like I was 100% in charge of my own care. She even goes beyond what I ask and touches on things I did not think to ask, covering everything you need to know. She is available whenever needed for any questions, which as a first time mama, there are so many questions. I also appreciate that she recognizes when a situation is beyond her abilities and if involving outside care or a hospital is necessary. Misty is skilled, very experienced and great at what she does. I fully trust her and love that she becomes a part of your family. She really loves what she does. I would recommend her services to anyone interested in a home birth, as I’ll be doing for any future births.

I went to Misty and Maggie after I had a terrible hospital experience with my first daughter. I always fantasized on the idea of a homebirth but questioned my capabilities for being able to go through with it. The birthing experience that I had with my 1st daughter left me with a ton of anxieties. Misty was always open to address any question I had, and to help shift my train of thinking for this to be a positive experience for me and that I can take back my birth story. I always looked forward to my check ups with Misty and Maggie. It wasn't just an in and out experience that I would have if I were to go to the OB. It was very personable and educational. Maggie and Misty would talk to my baby belly while doing the fundal height measurement which I really thought was sweet. Misty hears yours concerns and addresses them. She is an amazing advocate. When it came to the day I gave birth to my daughter it was by far the most amazing experience I could have ever asked for!! Thanks ladies!

Let’s go back 2 1/2 years ago when I first came into the office for a consultation. Not knowing much about pregnancy or birth, Misty was happy to answer all of my many questions. I left the office feeling confident in my decision to have a home birth. All appointments were great! Once I went into labor, Misty and Maggie came over to check on me. It was real early into labor. They ensured I was okay and reminded me to trust the process. Both of them came back and were by my side, letting me have my space when I wanted it, but also giving me tips and tricks to make myself comfortable and allow my body to do what it was made to do. After birth, they fed me, cleaned the house, and tucked us in to bed. It was lovely. Last year when I got pregnant again, I knew there was no question-Misty and Maggie were going to be hired again. This time around was also wonderful. They made me feel empowered! We had another successful, beautiful birth last month with them next to us. Thank you ladies!

I worked with Misty and Maggie for my homebirth as well as my prenatal needs and they were nothing short of amazing!! I was extremely nervous about doing a homebirth and both of them empowered me to believe I could do it! They answered every single question, treated me with care and made me feel safe and important my entire birth. I always recommend them to anyone local looking to do a homebirth. Misty is a true champion when it’s time for that baby to arrive and she checked on me relentlessly when I needed her most.

My birth with Misty was a healing experience. Not only is she knowledgeable, she was caring and respectful of my wishes and supported my birth plan. She was there when I had questions or needed assistance but was sensitive and gave space when I wanted. She has an amazing relationship with the Doctors at our local hospital which I highly respect and believe attests to her professionalism. Her main assistant Maggie, is very helpful and knowledgeable and readily offers support of different positions to try, massage techniques etc. together they also cooked and cleaned up everything so that my husband could enjoy the bonding experience with me rather than having to clean like at our previous births. I would highly recommend Misty and Maggie to anyone seeking a respectful and peaceful birth experience.

Misty offered an exceptional holistic home birth experience for our three children. We instantly connected with her wholesome and nurturing energy. Her extensive knowledge and wisdom made us feel confident we were in safe hands. Appointments were punctual. Misty was transparent and respectful. I always felt positive and uplifted after my appointments. We could not have wished for a more supportive team at all three births. I felt safe, strong and empowered to fully surrender in the moment. Most importantly, my Husband felt supported in his role Post partum care was above and beyond. Misty was always available when I needed to call for assistance and reassurance. Referrals were made in a timely manner and Misty was very respectful of my cultural Chinese post partum traditions. Overall, we are truly grateful for Misty and her team to be a part of our sacred journey.

My experience from my pregnancy, to my birth, to postpartum care was nothing short of phenomenal. Misty’s bedside manor was the most optimal for my liking. She respected my views and met me where I was at. For those of you who are looking and aren’t sure what to expect from a homebirth, I can tell you my experience in Misty’s care. Outside of how amazing it is to just birth your baby at home in your own space and privacy, my husband and I experienced her attentiveness. She didn’t rush us and allowed us to just enjoy our baby, she cooked us a meal, cleaned our dishes, started our laundry, and tucked us into bed. She is also an herbalist and has an amazing apothecary from which she also implements into her midwifery services. She is knowledgeable, funny, likable, and professional. I would hire her all over again.

All around AMAZING experience. Our births with Misty couldn’t have gone any better. With Misty’s knowledge and expertise, we’ve safely brought two beautiful and healthy babies into this world. She stuck to our noninvasive birth plan and provided us with everything we needed to have a successful home birth. If ever we decide to have another, there’s no doubt that Misty would be our first choice.
