Dr. Mitchell Harstad, OD

I have been seeing Dr Mitchell Harstad for several years and have been very pleased. I have multiple issues (macular degeneration, glaucoma, cataracts, strabismus) that he has helped me address. He has always been extremely kind and compassionate, especially when I lost my spouse of 38yrs. During the exam, he explains what he sees and what he is doing in terms I can understand, and unlike other physicians I've seen, talks to me rather than a scribe and isn't distracted by the computer. I am more than happy to recommend him.

I have been a patient of Dr. Harstad for years. My insurance has just changed and St. Cloud Eye Clinic is no longer a network provider in my new insurance. I’m now forced to find a new eye clinic. I was treated very properly and professionally here. I’m bummed out.

Very unprofessional and doesn’t even listen to what I have to say. Told me that Dr bonacci was wrong with the diagnosis. Said I have dry eye and that’s why I am losing vision in my left eye. I have never had issues with dry eye and it would not explain the constant pain in the back of my eye. I only saw him because the normal doctor I see what out of the office. He didn’t even run a repeat test to see if my inflammation of my cornea got worse. I was diagnosed by Dr bonacci to have inflammation in my cornea and he prescribed steroid drops. He told me to call the clinic if it got worse which it did. I will never see Dr Harstad again.

Found this Dr to be rude. Told him the issues I was having with my vision and he said what did you come here for! You need to call your doctor. Finished my appointment and left. I would not go back to him nor recommend this doctor.
