I had a bad experience with Nancy at my appointment about a month ago when I went for a routine prenatal appointment. First odd/offputting thing is that she slapped my knee as a hello when coming in and again when leaving the visit (hard enough to really startle me). I had never met her before and found it really weirdly forward and possibly a really bad move had I been someone with a trauma history or who didn't like to be touched. The exam itself was rushed and rough and she had to call me twice after about things she had forgotten to tell me. During the appoinment she talked over my answers several times as I tried to answer her questions. She also couldn't answer my question about when I asked if I should still take my iron supplement after getting an infusion a few days before and instead had me go for seemly unnecessary blood work to check my iron levels (they were on their way up...duh...from the infusion) and she said "so I guess you don't need to take the supplement". The actual answer was easily finable online (usually you stop iron supplements for a week after an infusion). It seems like she didn't know this and wasn't willing to own up to that and find out for me/ask someone else and instead deflected with an unnecessary blood test. Not being willing to admit you don't know something (if that is what happened) is a VERY scary thing for a medical professional to be doing. The other providers have been pretty good here so this really threw me. Seeing the other reviews here I can't believe this hasn't been addressed with her.

I saw Nancy on the last appointment of the day and felt like it was the perfect slot for a first prenatal appt. She was very thorough and lightened the mood in the room. Left the office well informed and feeling great. I would recommend anyone to see Nancy for their prenatal care!

Had her during a miscarriage. She did not tell me what she was going to do to my body and I left feeling so violated. This experience followed me to my next pregnancy where I was fearful to go to any doctors appointments . I asked for another practitioner every time they tried to schedule me with her during my next pregnancy until my last appointment I figure I had to get over my fear of seeing her again. She told me I had to be induced in 3 hours with no explanation. When I tried asking about it she used scare tactics and told me I was going against medical advice instead of explaining it to me. When I get to the hospital it was a stress test not induction but since I was panicking because of past feelings for her and how she just treated me my blood pressure was so high they said since I thought I was getting induced anyway I should just stay. I still think about my interactions with her often and I felt I needed to let others know after holding this in for a long time.

While I have loved the staff at Essex County OBGYN, my appointment with Nancy was one of the worst I've ever had. After my 20 week scan, Nancy came in to deliver some concerning news about my baby and did so so unprofessionally that I couldn't believe it. What little she told us about our baby's condition was incomplete, confusing, and insensitive. There was almost an air of trivializing or disregarding the concerns with our baby. Additionally, she tried to "high-five" me because she would not be the one dealing with our case as we would be going to see a specialist. I think she was trying to be cavalier and funny but it was so inappropriate and unprofessional. She is truly unlike every other provider we've met with at this office, and it is in the worst way possible.

Nancy indeed used scare tactics with me and some of her rhetoric I actually consider to be dangerous for new moms. She was unprofessional and quite rude. I understand her humor but there is a place and time.

I love the midwives at Essex County OBGYN associates but Nancy does not practice in the same way that the others do. She did not explain things very well and I left both appointments I had with her not feeling great about my care.

I saw Nancy for my first prenatal appointment. I did feel a tad rush, but however I was late to my appointment. She has a great sense of humor which I like. I don't like when doctors and medical practioners are are always so serious. It's okay to joke around a little (obviously not in a serious matter). She was informative, and I would see her again.

She is judmental and her thinking is beyond outdated. She uses scare tactics as a means of education. Honestly how she still works at this well respected practice is a mystery. She should really spend some time with the other practitioners to get a newer perspective
