Dr. Nirav Bigelow, PHD

I saw Dr. Bigelow a few years ago for my first time seeking out psychological testing. I was nervous and I didn’t really know how to go about it. In the first session she accused me of faking because I brought up concerns about a disorder that “doesn’t exist.” She even pulled out a dsm, read out the symptoms, and brushed off everything I said . She made me feel dismissed and hopeless. She didn’t believe that I was being genuine until I broke down crying out of frustration after she lashed out at me because I misunderstood the testing. I didn’t realize how poorly I was treated until I received proper help, therapy, and diagnosis elsewhere with someone who was patient enough to empathize with me, listen, and help me address my concerns.

She was extremely judgemental, disregarded everything I had to say, acted as though I was making stuff up, and hardly even let me speak. This meant she was speaking for me and constantly making assumptions about me without allowing me in the conversation. I started sobbing during our first session because of the stress she was causing me and all she could tell me was that I should "smile more because I have a beautiful smile". All of these other one-star reviews are on par with my experience. This woman should NOT be practicing.

Was dismissive and cold. I was anxious to see her and her attitude did not help. Did not ask me how I felt almost at all.
