Absolutely nightmare
Telehealth
Olajumoke Akinyele is an impediment to mental health and refuses to listen to her patients. She has no memory of sessions, shows up late, and refuses to hear patient concerns. Her disregard for her clientele is astonishing and the worst experience I've had in any therapy for 20 or more years.

WORSE THAN NO HELP
Her office is incompetent and impossible to get hold of; I couldn’t get a renewal of my prescriptions despite multiple attempts over an ample amount of time and I ran out. She was not an attentive listener, and I had to explain things over and over. She refused to leave me written instructions, saying that she “did not have time.” I left most appointments crying and deeply upset. It felt to me like she lacked compassion and understanding. My new psychiatrist is appalled by the medications she prescribed.

Dr Akinyele is decent enough to deal with. However, for people who have no insurance it is very expensive for 15 minute visits. Also, every time I needed a med refill there was a problem and I would end up running out of meds before the issue was rectified. I don’t think there should be an issue every time I need meds. I wouldn’t suggest her.

Excellent service up until last week. Had an appointment scheduled for last Monday at noon via telephone appointment (she scheduled the appointment at my previous session) and she never sent the meeting invite text or email with the link to the video session. The appointment was not cancelled, I received the reminder email and text the day before. I tried to contact her through multiple channels that day and throughout the week, including the patient portal, with no response. I called her again today (over a week after she flaked on my appointment) she finally answered and said I’d have to schedule another appointment. I have been out of my medication for a few days now. Based on this experience, I would conclude she doesn’t respect or care for her patients.

I found her through psychologytoday.com listed under psychologists which is misleading. She is not a doctor but rather a nurse practitioner with the ability to prescribe medicine. She prescribed medication that could have had adverse side affects in combination with other things I was already taking. I find that quite dangerous.
