Patricia McKey, ARNP

This was my first time visiting the UF Health Women's Center and my visit with Patricia was my absolute nightmare scenario. I went for an initial routine OBGYN consultation, because I wanted to hear about all my options for contraception from a professional - but I left with none of my questions answered, being handed two pamphlets, and feeling extremely belittled. Her attitude during routine medical questions was extremely unprofessional, starting with her constantly questioning the truthfulness of my answers. Her lack of professionalism continued as she was verbally being judgmental of said answers. She did not explain things well, if at all. The exam felt completely rushed and unhelpful. It did not feel like a welcoming environment to get serious medical questions answered. I would never recommend Patricia to friends or family.

Patricia is wonderful and an excellent NP! Gave me great medical care and you can really tell that she cares about her patients!

I was assigned to ARNP McKey when my ARNP retired. At our 1st appt, she said she would no longer prescribe my birth control pills because I was over 40 but not a smoker, not overweight, and had no family history of strokes. She didn't refer me to another provider but instead was lobbying for me to get an IUD which I was adamantly against. Next year, I told her my primary would prescribe my BCPs and she gave me the roughest pap of my life-I bled for 3 days. She is the reason I don't go there.

I have been a patient of Ms. McKey's for 20 yrs. I am also a NP, and I have always found her to be an excellent practitiiner. As far as I'm concerned, she is one of the best gyn providers in Gainesville. Her knowledge far surpasses other providers in the community, and she is also very compassionate.
