Great Health Professional
Paul took the time to listen and learn about my struggles and figure out a plan that would work for me. I was very surprised about the bad reviews. yes the first appointment is long, what else would you expect? You want a doctor that is going to ask question and get to the root but Paul never went to far or was unprofessional. I would HIGHLY recommend him to others.

You can find much better providers, keep looking
I have tolerated Paul Regan for several years despite his arrogance. He seems to enjoy his power differential with patients, particularly females. He minimized, trivialized, and outright ignored my insistence that I have had a particular condition for the past two years, insisting instead that I have a completely different disorder. I finally got a formal neuropsych evaluation, and what do you know, I have the condition I suspected and NOT the one he was insisting on. I made an immediate appointment to address this, and he unapologetically accepted my diagnosis. He reluctantly prescribed the medication I needed and told me if I increase my anxiety medication he will be "suspicious," that the new medication is not working/is not appropriate. I found a new Psychiatrist who doesn't make me feel like a criminal for being neurodivergent and mentally ill. She is kind, receptive, collaborative, and respectful. She listens to me and treats me with positive regard.

Better than any psychiatrist I've ever seen!
I can't believe these negative reviews. Paul is awesome. Anyone who says he asks too many questions or takes too much time is obviously looking for something other than mental health.

Other reviews are spot on. I'm in medication management, 1st "evaluation" lasted nearly 2 hours. 2nd appointment wanted to go more "in-depth" with my history. I put a stop to that! His notes are not accurate. He seemed too enjoy poking around in my painful history. Have discussed his behavior with my therapist and he agrees there is something a miss about him. Seems like he's trying to reinvent the wheel on my diagnosis. Has thrown in the whole alphabet soup for my condition. Sadly, he's a means to an end to get my medication refills. I have ZERO trust in him. With my insurance I don't have many choices. Looking for someone else.

Only saw him because my PA left business. Twenty minute appt lasted 2 1/2 hours of questioning that went back over 40 years! When asked why these types of questions just for meds refill he made it clear he needed the information. His after notes exaggerated/modified my answers. Not recommended at all!!

Paul saw me and another family member after our provider no longer did outpatient services. We talked about weight gain that i struggle with every visit and so he prescribed me a new med with a side effect of weight gain without warning me. I learned that online instead. When I wore shorts into the office he told me I looked “out of my comfort zone”. My head phones were draped around my neck and he tried to tuck it into my shirt (thinking it was a hanger string) without consent. I saw him for over a year. My sister was having severe side as tremors and even got fired from her job because she was unable to work. Paul didn’t care. After numerous calls and 4 hospital visits & ”seeing if it’ll fix itself” and one physc eval he said she could start weening off of the med in 2 suffering weeks . Starting now or later won’t make a difference. She was on this medication for over a year. The main side effect was tremors which wasted over a month of life and because may now have Parkinson’s

Extremely Arrogant Man. He was late for the appointment, questioned me for over an hour, and it felt like an interrogation. He seemed impatient if I didn’t answer quickly or specifically enough. I’m so sorry if it takes someone time to think back about things that happened 20-25 years ago. I’m so disappointed in this visit, I left feeling 10 x worse than when I came in. I Was there on therapists recommendation that I seek treatment for ADHD. He told me that he thinks I do suffer from that, but was unwilling to treat it! He said maybe he would treat it “eventually, down the road”. I was Prescribed an antipsychotic med for SLEEP!!! $375 dollars out of pocket for this visit, and a complete waste of time! Drained me and didn’t even appear to want to help with what I was dealing with. He poked fun at what I do for income, made assumptions about me, criticized my facial expressions, it was a humiliating and frustrating experience to say the least. I wouldn’t recommend this man to anyone!!

I’ve spent too many years improperly managing and medicating my anxiety/other issues without realizing it. Regardless of what I tried, I felt like the constant struggle to managing the anxiety just came with the disorder. Once I switched providers & started seeing Regan regularly, he has been able to help me get on a medication regimen that has helped me manage my anxiety better than I thought I could. He’s very knowledgeable about the variety of treatments available and most recent medication therapies so his perspective is fresh. Behavioral health therapies has improved and grown like crazy these yrs so changing long-term treatments may seem unreasonable, but new studies/therapy options show improved potential options. The whole office staff is also awesome and always very helpful. But shout out to Nurse Kelly who’s always super friendly and quick to fix AND follow-up with any problems or questions u might have.

Very condescending, runs late for appointments, doesn’t apologize for it, which causes more anxiety for me. Makes multiple diagnoses which are false and confirmed by my primary care physician. I’ve only seen him a couple of times for medication refills and he undermines my primary doctor who I’ve seen for years and knows me well. Would NOT recommend this man to anyone. I only have him because of insurance coverage. I actually would NOT recommend anyone in this group, very UNPROFESSIONAL!

Don’t go..... in Naperville , IL – Aug 09, 2018

Hes a quack. Made me feel worse. I went to him because my old psychiatrist switched offices and it would be a longer drive to her. I basically only need to see a psychiatrist to get my meds refilled every couple of months. He tried to prescribe me TWO new medications even though my old doc said I’m doing great on these ones. I said I wasnt comfortable changing my meds without my mother in the room because I dont know how our insurance works, and he kept trying to pressure me. Will not be back.
