Horrible provider
She does not want to help you. Already has an answer before she sees you. Won’t listen to you. Feels like it’s her way or nothing. Won’t have the decency to call back she makes her poor nurses do her dirty work. Terrible terrible provider.

Avoid
My last visit with Paula Smith left me in tears. She became visibly angry and told me to be quiet when I had a question regarding her diagnosis, I was looking for clarification but she took it as a challenge and was shaming and cold. This woman lacks the skills needed to treat patients that are hurting, sick, and in need of help. She also does not return calls ever and does have her nurses run interference, which leads to confusion and sometimes a situation where you use the ER and then are further scolded by Ms. Smith.

I would have given her a zero if it was an option
I was in the ER and admitted to the hospital. The doctor in the hospital said to go to my primary as a follow up. She acted annoyed and told me not to return to the ER unless I was having a heart attack or couldn't walk or stand. Forget the fact I was having massive pain in my side.

She's worthless where cancer patients are involved. Has no idea about what is available through UNM Hospitals. She puts her nurse in as a middleman and will not call patients back. My opinion of her is she knows a whole lot about nothing.
