I have been on a health journey to address specific problems that have crept up over the last couple of years. Through a series of tests after I had advocated for myself over and over I found out I had a thyroid disease, specifically Hashimoto's. Digging further into my labs, I also discovered that I had extremely low ferritin, RBC, GFR was raised and more. Persis asked a lot of questions and I appreciated that and I thought that she cared about my health. Then the visit continued to go downhill after that. When I read the ambulatory document that she wrote up, I was not only disappointed but extremely shocked. Her statements claimed 'Patient states she knows more than doctors do', Patient doesn't want full hysterectomy to help ferritin because that's 'not my problem'', 'Patient had terrible childhood that has led to these problems'. I was like WHAT? The minute I started asking Persis questions about natural supplements, she literally walked out on my appt and left me sitting there.
