I was not given the chance to talk about my full list of symptoms before he decided I was not worth the effort. The moment he stopped caring was the moment I accidentally relived a traumatic experience. The flood of stress hormones that my body released had made my voice sound emotional and altered the fluidity of my speech. Thus, he started rushing. In retrospect, I likely wasn't going to get taken seriously no matter what I did. Early into meeting him, he started talking about astrology. Maybe that rapport building strategy has worked with other young women in his experience, but I don't go to the Dr. for horoscopes. I felt profiled, and let down. If you don't look like me (and don't have ptsd), he might do his job for you.
