Rebecca Gaines, LPCC

I went to Rebecca a few years ago. I told her about how I had been drinking occasionally but it had slowly began to increase. Rebecca point blank told me I was abusing alcohol (probably was) and that “if I didn’t stop she was going to call CPS on me” (I have a daughter). As someone who was on their way to a full blown alcoholic addiction, this wasn’t the type of help I needed. She offered me no inpatient or outpatient resources. After this session, I came back once more a week later, told her I had quit cold turkey. And then I never went back to see her again. Scaring your patients isn’t helping them. I was afraid of therapy for a year and a half because of her. Thankfully, I’ve since found a great therapist who has helped me and I am now 13 months sober.

I have been seeing Becca for over a year for my anxiety. She has been guiding me through EMDR therapy to find peace and healing. Becca is very focused on defining a problem and finding a resolution within each session. I know that I'm getting my money's worth each time that I see her. Through EMDR, I am now able to understand, feel and navigate my emotions in a safe way.
