Dr. Robbin Gurr, PHD

Dr. Gurr was a great fit with my daughter. She helped her deal with her anxiety as well as her eating disorder. She was very compassionate and provided her with tools to help her. I highly recommend her.

She is on a list of psychologists, experienced with eating disorders, provided to us by the div. of Adolescent Medicine at Cohens. Although she was pleasant enough, $250 and 1.5 hrs later, "ED" was never even introduced to us. She also said things to my daughter like "you have to eat"and "we all gain weight when we get older, right?" Although my daughter felt a little better having just talked about her anorexia, these comments nearly put her into a panic upon leaving. Not the right things to say to newly diagnosed anorexic. Dr. Gurr herself, told us that her friend is the social worker that we met, in this division of Cohen's. Interesting. Also very $, compared to others. There were few therapists listed in our area of Suffolk. Writing this not to slander Dr. Gurr, (may be wonderful with other conditions) but to give others the hope that if she isn't your best fit for eating disorders, your right therapist is out there and may be nearby...hit google and keep looking! :-)
